During a short residency in Worpswede, Germany, I became interested in the depiction of women’s emotional states and body postures in the paintings of Heinrich Vogeler, a representative figure for the history of the artistic commune established in the town. In response, I have created a living archive of five distinct, hand-drawn catalogues containing a selection of titles from his paintings of women. I placed color reproductions of these catalogues in a wooden box and asked the people present at the Sunday Market to randomly pick one catalogue from the collection. Based on their choice of catalogue and title, I embodied the specific pose for them for a couple of seconds. I performed this until there were no catalogues left in the box.

For the early part of the market I also baked some gingerbread.
It was decorated with street signs and shops' logos reproductions. The Mayor of Worpswede came to say Hi to us and shortly after this picture was taken I offered him a gingerbread.
